game day chic

You know when you say you will never do something again? And you are adamant about it - like an all caps I WILL NEVER DO THAT AGAIN. Well, I've found that when you say that...you eventually DO end up doing it again. See, I told myself, and anyone else who would list, that I was DONE blogging. KAPUT. I met friends (some of the best I'll ever have) and that was enough for me. But...seasons change and life is funny. So, I'm "back." (Though really, I never went anywhere! That's a weird thing for bloggers to say.) And I hope you want to read about books and TV shows and monograms...because that's what I want to talk about.

To "celebrate" being "back," I've teamed up with some Houston bloggers to do an earring giveaway! How fun are these Lisi Lerch Button Earrings? With the most important game of the season for my Alma Mater coming up...LSU vs. Bama for you crazies who don't follow college football...it's perfect timing. We folks in the SEC take gameday seriously, there is no just throwing on a tshirt and calling it a day. (I'm looking at YOU a&m, you have a lot of work to do before you are truly SEC.)

These earrings will be perfect with a simple gold tunic, leggings and some riding boots. Voila! The perfect fall gameday outfit, topped off with some pearls, of course. I think they will be just the good luck charm LSU needs to take down number 5. (I seriously love the fact that Oregon is ranked above Bama right now. LOVE. But number 1 and number 2 need to do a switcheroo.)

show me tha monayyyyyy

Today may feel like any other day, but it's not.

Today I am getting together with some wonderful other ladies to give you over $300! ($320 to be exact!)

Summer is just around the corner and you need to have the best summer ever. And hopefully this will start you on your way!

My suggestion? I'm the most boring person alive and I would use it to pay for my home inspection. BUT I suggest you use it to buy a plane ticket somewhere fun. Or maybe I just mean that Alexa should enter this and fly to see me and Ashley. What? I'm not the one who made the rafflecopter, I can't rig this.

Or go see a sexy man in concert. If you do that, you'll need some cute new shorts and boots. Whatever you do, it will be better than three hundred extra dollars. Trust me.

Get you somethin' nice, ya hear?

i am a terrible liar + a giveaway

I am probably the worst liar ever. Andre' can take one look at me after a lie slips out and he will know that it wasn't the truth. We're talking little things here, people. Like who took Bowden out last.

So it's a really good thing that this link up is over the internet instead of face to face, because y'all would know for sure which one is the lie.

1. My dad helped arrest Carl Lewis.
2. I went on a cruise through Greece and Turkey for my 8th grade trip.
3. The first time I went skiing, I broke my leg on the bunny slopes on the first day.

So which one do you think it is?! Number THREE is the lie! While I have been skiing before, I never broke my leg. (Actually, I've never broken anything...knock on wood!) There was that one time that I ran into a tree and got a concussion, but we're just going to pretend that little tidbit never happened. I went back a few years later and didn't fall once, so I think I more than made up for it!

Carl Lewis was an Olympic runner if you didn't know that, and in the 90s he was arrested in Houston for a DWI. My dad was DWI task force for HPD my whole life and that night must have been his lucky night! But not really because Mr. Lewis ran from the police station after they brought him in. And you just don't catch an Olympian when he runs away from you!

A history teacher at my middle school sponsored the best 8th grade trip known to man-kind. We flew into Athens, Greece and stayed there for 2 days and then took a cruise around the Greek Isles and Turkey for 10 days before coming back to spend another night in Athens. Santorini stole my heart - we actually thought about Honeymooning there but then we looked at the flight prices. Bahamas looked a lot better after that! But we WILL get back there one day so Andre' can experience it. Ever seen sisterhood of the traveling pants? You know the part where they ride the donkeys up to the house? It's 100% real. And those donkeys are MEAN!

On an unrelated note, I'm part of a really great giveaway over at Heavens to Meighan, you should check it out and maybe win some fun stuff.
