my hips don't lie

No, I'm not Shakira. I'm just a normal girl trying to find some pant for work.

Even when I worked in an office, I never had to wear them. It was a really casual environment and I wore jeans or a dress every day. Now that I need some, the only pair in my closet is from when I was 17 years old. They miraculously (HOW??) still fit, but I need some nicer pairs if people are going to take me seriously.

So yesterday I set off during lunch on a mission: a mission to find two nice pairs of pants. The old pair I have is from Gap, so I went there first. Maybe the Gap here is just a bad one, but they had THREE pairs in the whole store. They do have TONS more online, but I believe pants are things you need to try on first. Off to Banana I went. They had more styles than Gap, so I grabbed a few and went to try them on.

THAT WAS A MISTAKE.

Apparently Banana pants are made for people who don't have an ounce of hip on their body. You've got a little junk in the trunk? Fagetaboutit. How is it possible for one pair of pants to ruin a day? I found out - said pair of pants will add so much weight to your hip area that you run out of the dressing room and run to a gym.

This is where I need your help! Where do you buy pants? But not only that, where do you buy pants that ACTUALLY LOOK GOOD? Because if I can't find any, I've already decided that I'm destined to wear a skirt or a dress every day. And I do not have that many skirts! Please, help a friend out.

  2. Try the Loft! They have great pants and usually have sales on them! They are my favorite! Plus they have different style pants for different "style" people! Love them!

  4. If you have an Express close to you, I'd try there! I got some great work pants from there and they are incredible soft and comfortable, I LOVE wearing them! I find their Editor and Columnist pants to be fantastic! Hope that helps and I hope you find some great work pants!

  5. The only pants I can find that fit me comfortably come from New York & Company. You might try there.

  6. I have more than an ample amount in the booty/hip department and I hit up Loft and NY and Company a lot. Loft has a "curvy" fit in their pants that is amazing and they are always having great deals, NY and Co has the same!

  7. I love my express pants, the editor style has a regular and wide band they are much more relaxed than their columnist pants (which seem to be more narrow) i have almost every color, but beware the regular length is super long but they have short

  8. I buy my work pants from either Ann Taylor Loft or JCPenney Worthington brand. They are the only ones that fit my hips and butt. They make so many different fits, there is sure to be one that will work for you!

  10. New York and Company... I swear they aren't for old ladies!...and they have great sales! got 4 pairs of pants for $100 one time. If you can find an outlet store, then you're golden. Plus they come in three different length sizes.

  11. Do you have any outlets malls? The Gap stores there tend to have a decent selection of trousers.

  12. I'm going to keep following this. I've had issues with finding good pairs of pants forever now. The last time I bought pants was years ago until I got pregnant and I bought maternity jeans. Which I'm still wearing. Four months postpartum. Because I can't find a good pair anywhere because post baby hips aren't really interested in being shoved into a pair of 'fancy' jeans. Boo.

  13. I see other people have already suggested it, but NY and Co is the best for big booty work pants. Also, Calvin Klein pants are awesome. I found a few pairs at Ross one day and couldn't pass up the deal.

  15. My favorite place to find good deals on pants are Marshalls and TJ Maxx... they don't ALWAYS have good ones but if you check everyone once in awhile you usually will find something good!

  16. The only pants I've ever owned and loved are from Express and The Limited. I have some from Express that have lasted me over 10 years.

  18. Do you have a Banana Republic Outlet near you? I buy their Jackson Fit and find they are a forgiving to my hips. Another vote for The Loft too.

  19. I love pants from the Limited and Loft :) Good luck! I always have such a hard time with pants too, especially since I'm short too.

  22. I love the editor pants from express. I have hips and a boy, and three pants respect that fact. An Taylor makes great pants too, but they are super expensive.

  24. Gap, don't go the River Oaks one! go to town and country or rice village. The always skinny black pant is my new fave. ankle hit, so probably full length on you...slim, can wear tunics with them. you will be a 00 there so that should make you feel good.
