I had grand plans to get in a lot of Shenanigans this weekend so that I could have something worthwhile to link up with the pretty Miss Sami, but then I got sick.
We went to Houston because I had a baby shower on Saturday and because we just can't get enough nephew time. But it's bad news when Reid spent his entire weekend having meltdowns and then falling asleep on his mom or dad's laps - something he NEVER does.
So of course, since I still couldn't resist snuggle time with Reid, I got sick. I'm not sure what I have, but I have a fever. And I read somewhere once that fever = flu. Please say that is not true!
We still wanted to have some fun, so we went to dinner with friends on Saturday night at Beaver's. We went there last month for drinks and wanted to try out the food this time. I wasn't really hungry, but I got a small side of mac & cheese. Along with being a pizza snob, I'm a bit of a mac & cheese snob. I am not exaggerating when I say that this stuff was one of the best I have EVER had. I'm going to give up making it at home because I know I will not even come close. (And the whole being healthy and no pasta during the week thing.) I have zero appetite right now thanks to the maybe flu, but I would still eat a gallon if this if someone gave it to me.
The rest of the weekend looked like that. Hot tea to make my throat feel good enough to meet the friends, and the best drink I have ever put into my mouth. Cuties + coconut in a healthy smoothie? SOLD. Now I just need to figure out where to buy coconut chuncks so I can recreate this. And I guess I need a juicer? In my nighttime medicated state last night I was thinking of how to properly make a cutie smoothie. Do you blend them or juice them? And then I passed out two seconds after putting my sleep mask on (face mask? sleep mask?) and dreamed of being a hoarder of bookshelves. That Walgreens knock off of Nyquil really gets ya.

That little smoothie looks so delish! Sorry you were feeling icky this weekend!! Hope you're better now!
ReplyDeleteHope you start feeling better soon!
ReplyDeletehahaha quoting mean girls is an everyday occurrence for me as well. hence why we are besties.
ReplyDeleteaw, I'm so sad that you weren't feeling well this weekend! I was hoping that you were going to be able to make it to the meetup :( I hope you feel better soon!
ReplyDeleteIt's okay to quote Mean Girls every day - if you didn't, I'd be disappointed.
ReplyDeleteSorry you're sick - hope you feel better soon!
I get sick like at least once a month after being around the niece. Kids are cesspools of germs. And I had a fever in August from one of her little baby diseases & definitely didn't have the flu. So maybe you are okay. Next time we have to go to Houston you better be there.
ReplyDeleteMean girls is a way of life haha... LOVE those lips ;) that sounds so creepy.
ReplyDeletethat little cutie thing is too precious. I'd mix it with non-fat frozen yogurt and some pineapple chunks in a blender.... and maybe some Malibu Rum (after 5 oclock of course;) )
ReplyDeleteHaha I love the title! Mean Girls will forever be my favorite! Love that straw! :)

ReplyDeleteMean Girls everyday is totally acceptable. Love it.
You quoted Mean Girls, meaning my love for you just grew a millionfold. I didn't even think that was possible, Bowie.
ReplyDeleteBut seriously, I hope you feel better soon! I have a hunch that Cuties will speed that along :)
When I saw that you quoted mean girls at the very top of your post, I decided I had to be your newest member. Cannot wait to follow your precious blog!

I love mac and cheese and pizza 'cause I love cheese but I am so not a snob about either. I'll eat it up almost anywhere with joy!! Ugg...the sickness still seems to be going around. Feel better soon.
ReplyDeleteDude! Where in the world did you get that Cuties drink? OMG, I would die! It sounds so freakin good! I'm sorry you aren't feeling good, I hope it's not the flu. Glad you were able to have a little fun this weekend though. Ps. How do you know Cammie Britt Bryan?? I saw on Facebook that she is our "mutual friend". Weird!

ReplyDeleteStopping over from Ashley's blog! You had me a mean girls haha. Seriously I wanted to watch that movie so bad this weekend. I guess when I bought it years ago I got it in full screen (oops) and my husband wouldn't let me watch it lol. So I officially ordered myself a new copy!
ReplyDeleteDon't blame baby Reid! It's all on Chad! My little man is feeling fine, just a cold. Just wanted to say thank you for coming over this weekend and apologize for giving you the HIV. Also.....the fact that A totally volunteered to babysit Reid by himself makes me know you married an awesome guy. Love you both!
