Because of that, and because I never really explained it, I'm letting you in on why I named this little space of mine "put a bow on it."
OK, maybe I got the idea last night when Kate Spade, my favie, TOTALLY ripped me off.
Little known fact - I created two blogs prior to finally keeping up with this one. The first one was "She's Like Texas" which is a Josh Abbot Band song. The second one was "Champagne Cheers" because I am, as you know, in love with champagne. But those just didn't feel right. And I was still too embarrassed to blog.
I examined my life and realized that one thing stood out - bows. I know there are plenty of girls out there who believe that wearing a bow should not be allowed after the age of 5. I am not one of those girls. CLEARLY.
Don't believe me? Well OKAY then, I'll just show you.
When in doubt, put a bow on it. When an outfit needs to be jazzed up, put a bow on it. When you want to feel super girly, put a bow on it. And in all honesty, I just feel prettier when I have a bow on some part of my body/outfit. And when I'm tan, but that's a whole different story.
So there you have it, the reason for this little old name of mine. And the reason why I need to have little girls. I don't think my son would appreciate me putting bows on him very much.

I purposely discarded three wedding dresses in the fitting room because they had bows on them, and I just can't pull it off. So, (1) you're absolutely adorable, and (2) maybe I'm a little jealous of your cuteness and bow skeeelz. My bow-pulling-off skills ended at age 7 when Mom made me start doing my own hair, because I was a picky brat ;)
ReplyDeleteI totally love you in bows. Not many people could pull it off, but damn girl. You do!
ReplyDeleteI love bows on adult women. I don't think they look childish, but fun. And they add something to an outfit without being too crazy. I say rock out with your bows out!
ReplyDeleteThe Bigger the bow, the better. My kids are going to hate me..
ReplyDeletelove it. and you have inspired me to wear bows more often.
ReplyDeleteLOVE your bow belt! You always look great in bows Kait!
ReplyDeleteAw love it! I used to wear so many bows in college and then I donated them to my cousin a few years ago and I miss them! My wedding dress (when I never get married ;) will definitely have a big bow on it!
ReplyDeleteI LOVE that your blog's name has a meaning behind it. That's sooooo cool!

ReplyDelete"When in doubt, put a bow on it"... Now that's some advice, if I ever heard any! But I will say that I loved the name "She's like Texas." I loveee that song. SUCH a good one :) Your current one seems to fit you more though :)
ReplyDeleteHahaha love it! I forget you are from Texas too! I love the Josh Abbot Band! One of my friends from high school is their drummer. She's Like Texas is my favorite of their songs and such a cute idea for a blog title. I love Put a Bow On It though and it seems to suit you perfectly!
ReplyDeleteVery cute!! Always loved your blog name!
ReplyDeleteHi there - I'm new to the blog world and stumbled across your blog! I love the 'put a bow on it' explanation. I'm not much of a bow gal myself, but I would think that if I examined my wardrobe I could say something about stripes or sparkles... my wedding (accidentally) ended up having a sparkle theme! LOL glitter is forever!!
ReplyDeleteHappy Thursday!!
