Wedding Wednesday
O hey 1pm and I'm just now posting. It's been that kind of day. Moving on.
I woke up to a text from A saying: "It's wedding wednesday. You should blog about the honeymoon." How sweet of him to remember, right?! But I can't get that out of order, so, sorry A, today I'm blogging about my bridal portraits. The honeymoon shall appear on here in a month or two. After all, who wants to look at wedding posts day after day? Oh, HA, ME. I DO.
Who knew that bridal portraits would be SUCH an ordeal? Finding a place to take these was more difficult than finding a needle in a haystack. All of the "cool" places in Houston required a permit to shoot there - which was around $100. And I kid you not, this new hoity-toity venue wanted to charge a $350 fee JUST TO TAKE PICTURES FOR AN HOUR. WHAT?!
I ended up getting super lucky. I had been calling The Houstonian (fancy hotel when old man Bush lived right after being president) for weeks and wasn't hearing back. I finally got a hold of someone and they felt so bad about my issues that they let me take them there for free. If only they could have solved the heat and mosquito problems!
This picture shows perfectly just how AWKWARD this whole thing was. Throw your veil up! But then act like you didn't and just smile normally! Yep, I'm awkward.
This is the picture I used for my portrait at the reception and for the newspaper announcement.
And then I went home and ate 5 pounds of bread and carbalicious goodness.

You look beautiful!! I have never realized that people charge that much just to take a picture on the property. I didn't have to worry about things like that in small town Mississippi. ha! The venue was gorgeous as well! Love all the pics pretty girl! :)
ReplyDeleteHappy tears, happening now. You look beautiful!!! And my bridal portraits were also so freaking awkward! They were like, "Look at the camera, then drop your chin, then look back with just your eyes, but don't smile, but smirk a little." Mmmmmkayno. :) You're the prettiest little princess ever!
ReplyDeleteYour dress is to die for! I love it!

ReplyDeletehow precious. amen for wanting 5 pounds of bread....i dread that, esp since i thought it was a good idea to order a very fitted dress...bad decisions. these are beautiful though. ps love the lace.
